  • Summer Family Bucket List

Having just returned from five days at Camber Sands, it feels as though much of the summer has already been and gone! It feels like such a joy and a treat to know that it is only mid-July and the rest of this month is stretching out ahead, followed by a blissful August and even September isn’t exactly cold, is it? And then when the weather starts to turn and the leaves fade to burnished rusts and golds, we will welcome our baby – so I can’t even bring myself to dread the end of this glorious warm stretch all that much! I wanted to take some time to write a bucket list for this summer, in part because everyone else has been doing them but also to set some measurable goals for this summer.

    Eat doughnuts at the seaside
    Build a sandcastle
    Collect seashells
Swim – properly swim – in the sea
    Eat slices of watermelon
    Make ice lollies
    Sleep in a caravan
    Have a family ‘sleepover’
Paint and hide rocks for other families to find
    Share a picnic
    Climb a tree
    Explore a new playground
    Eat breakfast in the garden
    Have a water fight
Spend a night in a tent
Visit the wild ponies in the New Forest
    Run barefoot through the grass
Have a movie night in the garden, with duvets and hot chocolate

I wonder how many we’ll be able to tick off before the weather turns!  What’s on your list?
