Twins in Summer

Hello, summer!

London – and most of the UK, actually – is experiencing a bit of a heatwave.  We’re certainly noticing it in our tiny house and I won’t lie, I’m seriously wishing that I had found something holiday-esque for the five of us to do this week.  As it is I’m whiling away the hours in the office and t’others are hibernating, venturing outside only when strictly necessary.  How do you keep babies cool in a heat wave?  Lots of cool baths, so Kirsty tells me.

We have reworked our routine so that Josephine-dog’s walks now take place in the very early morning and late evening, after the twins would usually be in bed.  It’s been an adjustment for them but they’re getting there and as a bonus, it looks as though I might be able to work toward getting our sunset photography sessions back.  In the meantime, we took them to the woods at about eight pm, slathered them in sun cream and stripped them to their nappies and in the course of about fifteen minutes, we got these.  Beautiful.

Have you been out with the camera or are you avoiding the bright outside as much as possible?

Hello summer. Hello Lysander and Balthazar in summer. I wish you five could come and play with us by the sea. It looks like you’ve found a perfect way to cool off at the end of a hot day though. Nappies and flawless milky skin and smiles and crawls and wide eyes, my ovaries can’t even.

Such gorgeous shots. We haven’t had many shoots outside, mostly water fights. You have those to look forward to 🙂

They are so cute and have the best of expressions. They looks so natural there in the late day sun. Beautiful x

Oh this last picture is just perfection! We have been letting the big two run around outside naked, and trying to keep Finn out of the sun and heat as much as we can
