If you follow my blog at all, you will already be familiar with Cololo even if you don’t know it – they are the brand behind our fantastic colourful duffle coats with the rainbow toggles. I bought them when I was pregnant with the twins and we also have more duffle coats in a bigger size and with dinosaur toggles from Cololo when the twins are bigger, because having tested the coats out over this wet and chilly autumn we have come to the conclusion that we are big fans of this lovely little brand.
So it was a bit exciting when they popped us a message recently offering the twins a set of zipgrows in spots and chevrons to try out for size. It’s not the weather to wear this sort of thing outdoors but the other day was one of those days where we just had to inject a bit of colour into our afternoon somehow, and these adorable babygrows were the perfect way to do it. Kirsty was knitting and I was job-hunting on the laptop, neither of us had changed out of our pyjamas and we wanted the twins to wear something equally snuggly and comfortable whilst we tucked up indoors. These babygrows seemed like the obvious choice.
I don’t often dress the twins in babygrows these days. Now that they’re one we tend to put them in little top-and-trouser sets like mini children rather than babygrows. But these – oh! These are so sweet. We put them in these babygrows and they looked like babies again. We found ourselves interacting with them differently; there were more snuggles and cuddles, we didn’t fling them in the air or swing them around. We spoke to them softly again, as we did when they were tiny. It’s funny how outfits can do that.
They played quietly on the floor, the little bright spots in a horrible month. We took breaks between rows (Kirsty) and cover letters (me) to sing the on-his-head song –
– Lysander’s got a rainbow on his head,
Lysander’s got a rainbow on his head,
Lysander’s got a rainbow on his head…
and he keeps it there all day! –
and eat mango and kiwi, two of the twins’ favourite foods. There’s something about little children dressed to look smaller, wearing bright colours and playing quietly on your floor. I found myself smiling, thinking about how lucky I am. How glad I am. This little family, my little family. They make me happy every day.
Thank you to Cololo for sending the twins these gorgeous zipgrows. I think that they look fab and I love how bright and colourful they look and how easy they are to get on and off with their little zippers. These were the perfect outfit for a quiet day indoors, but they were perfect for later that afternoon when our friends popped over as well – they’re so comfortable and easy, but they’re also beautiful enough for hanging out with friends as well.

Aww they look so cute, I love the prints on the sleepsuits. Perfect for lazy days spent indoors.x
I am adding this to my list of potential brands for when I have my little dude- I am useless when it comes to boys clothes! Those duffel coats are amazing and I wish I had bought some for my girls. x
Oh they do look adorable – and just like little babies all over again, so very wonderfully cuddly!
Aww Amber these little ones are just soooo cute. I know what you mean about sleepsuits, I stopped dressing Eden in them quite soon as I wanted her to look like a little person rather than a baby. I don’t know why it’s my preference it just always has been. These are adorable though. So bright and beautiful I’ve bought Eden a sleepsuit for her Christmas Eve box as she’s still in age 9-12 months so it was hard to find her pyjamas haha. So I’ll be enjoying my last baby cuddles with her over the festive season. I need one of those duffle coats in my life too. This brand is beautiful and I will definitely be checking them out xxx
Love these! Nice and comfy looking.
Oh they suddenly look so grown up! I think it is the standing up! Love the spotty babygrow!
