Do you send out a family picture on your Christmas card? Apparently this is a ‘thing’ in the States and I’ve long thought it a good idea. After all, who doesn’t want to receive a personalised picture of the small and adorable in one’s life at Christmas? It seems like a great way to send a visual update of the family to those who may not follow your family on facebook, such as elderly relatives.
This year we have decided to join in with a personalised Christmas card of our own. After catching the weather forecast for the weekend I had visions of first snow, the twins out in the woodland with hands outstretched and faces full of wonder. Alas for the snow that fell was more like sleet and didn’t settle anyway. Time for Plan B.
Little Green Radicals (you might remember them from our Slogans Bodysuits review back in the summer) kindly sent us a pair of snowsuits to keep the twins warm this winter. I love the design of the night sky above the houses and trees, and the tones are gorgeous – Christmassy, but not too in-your-face red and green. I fell in love with this snowsuit back when I first saw it at Bubble London so it was especially exciting to open the parcel knowing that it contained one of the staples that I had already earmarked for this season. I knew that it would make the perfect outfit for our Christmas card picture.
We took the twins out to the woods armed with supplies: extra socks, hot milk – it was chilly out there! – and their first taste of biscuit in the form of gingerbread reindeer, having a hunch that we might have to resort to sheer bribery in order to achieve happy faces in the freezing wind.
Somehow we got lucky and the twins were delighted to laugh at us for a while and then to dive in to sugary, gingerbready goodness! Actually, I’m not sure which of these to use for our card – do you have a favourite?
Thank you to Little Green Radicals for sending us these snowsuits. The twins (13 months) are wearing the 9-12 month size comfortable here so I’d say that the sizing runs a little large, at least on my children. It’s the perfect warm outer layer to keep a little one toasty in this freezing weather, and so beautiful that it’s already attracted a few comments from strangers wanting to know where we bought it!

5th one down is my favourite, but they are all so adorable and it was a tough call for me between that and the one above it. We always do this each year. We bought their outfits last month, we’ll take the pics in front of the tree when we put it up at the beginning of December. These are all gorgeous Amber xxx
I vote the second gingerbread one – they just have the best expressions!!
LOVE these little suits! The twins are looking like such little grown ups all of a sudden! Gorgeous pictures as always.
Awww they are brilliant photos and much better than mine.
I’ve had to edit the background and I didn’t get one with everyone looking at the camera 🙁
I sent out ones of Little G when it was her first Christmas and trying to get a photo was so traumatic I haven’t tried again. Now they are older I should have probably done it- perhaps next year! Love those snow suits, I need to get some for my girls as they say it is going to be an awful winter don’t they? xx
Oh Amber! Where do I begin? Absolutely gorgeous! These photos are delicious enough without the biscuits! xx #FunkyKidFriday
