We told both of our mothersĀ about this pregnancy early on. Truth be told, it would have been hard to conceal it over Christmas and the game would definitely have been given away when I declined a Christmas dinner in favour of two slices of toast! It’s definitely been that kind of a first trimester.
But the announcement that we were having another set of twins, that could only be done in style. In my world there are never enough excuses to wear party hats. Thankfully, the twins seem to agree with this view. They are always very good at keeping hats of any kind on their heads and on the rare occasion that they remember that they are there, they can always be distracted again.
The trouble is, with baby twins already, that they simply don’t allow attention to be detracted from them for more than about thirty seconds! And my mother is so enraptured with her first grandchildren that she barely even noticed the hats; she was far too busy playing.
Little Nutkins kindly sent us these tops last month and I had been wracking my brains for what to do with them. They’re too smart, not to mention too cute, to hide under a coat outside. These tops – by Organic Zoo – have a real occasion feel to them. They manage to balance smart and attractive against soft and comfortable, perfect for a party or for going visiting. Or just for wearing around the house if you’re feeling fancy.
My friend Becky reviewed one of these tops recently and found the infant sizing to be quite generous. I remember the same from when the twins wore Organic Zoo when they were younger, but I wonder whether the toddler sizing might be less so. The twins at fourteen months are wearing the 1-2 years size with quite a generous amount of growing room but it certainly fits rather than drowns them in the way that a generously-sized top might. I’m not sure that it will fit them at all when they are closer to two.
I’ve mentioned before how much I love purchasing from little boutiques. The parcels always come quickly and beautifully wrapped so that you can really tell how much care and attention goes into these shops. If I had more time I would definitely run a tiny online clothes shop of my own, and adding to the twins’ wardrobe from independent retailers makes me feel proud to be doing my part in supporting the work-from-home mums that usually run them. In the future I will definitely browse Little Nutkins when I’m looking to add to the children’s wardrobe, and I’d urge you to take a look as well.

I don’t know how I missed this announcement but wow!! congratulations, so exciting! xx
They are the cutest! They look so comfy but so cool – love the party hats too! x
I’m still in awe that you’ve caught us up with four children so quickly. I’m just so excited. These outfits are the cutest, so smart and perfect for this. They’ll only be a year apart at school, how wild is that? Judah and Eden are only 16 months apart but they fall in the months that make them two whole school years apart. Your little ones are literally going to rule the school. I love it š xxx
I wish Squidge would wear anything on his head for more than a few seconds but he’d rather get wet or cold than wear a hat or even have his hood up.
I’m so pleased and excited for you and have thought about you all every day since you first told me you were pregnant again. I’m absolutely thrilled for you.
