  • Meet the Wildes is our award-winning modern love story

Hello! We are Amber and Kirsty Wilde and Meet the Wildes is our award-winning modern love story about raising a family as a lesbian couple. We have been blogging for five years and write about LGBTQ parenting issues as well as the more traditional family blog topics – from fertility and IVF to pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. We have twin sons born in 2014, twin daughters born in 2016 and a baby born at the end of 2018. There is one precious embryo left in the freezer!

We have just bought our first and ‘forever’ home, a Victorian terraced house close to the sea in Folkestone. We are so excited to embrace coastal living, if a little daunted by the reality of commuting back to London for work Monday – Friday.

If you are a brand looking to work with influencers like us, take a look at our previous brand collaborations.

You can find Kirsty on instagram too, by the way – she’s @thelittlewildes.

And you can find me at @meetthewildes.

We use YouTube for documenting family memories.

From left to right, these monkeys are Embla, Balthazar, baby Vita, Lysander and Olympia and they are entirely as cheeky as they look!

    Our Modern Love Story

Once upon a time, two best friends fell in love. We were fifteen years old and the best of friends, and we fell into bed one day when Kirsty was recovering from chicken pox and all scabby and nasty, and I was harbouring influenza but didn’t quite know it (for a little while I suspected that the head-pounding, giddy-sick feeling was just ‘being in love’). It hasn’t all been plain sailing, of course, but thirteen years on we’re still head-over-heels and have five beautiful and VERY noisy children!

Meet the Wildes was a finalist in the MAD Blog Awards 2015 (Best Photography Blog, Best Pregnancy Blog) and 2016 (Best Baby Blog). It won Best Photography Blog in the BiBs 2016 and was a finalist in the Inspiration category of the BiBs 2018. It’s so lovely to learn more about you both. I kept meaning to swing by after your FB message, but I’m a bad blogger and always get sidetracked. But I am here and am glad I visited. Have followed on Bloglovin. Looking forward to following your journey. Your photography is gorgeous, would love some tips some day 😉

Thank you! But I love your photography – it’s very real. Would swap photography tips for advice on getting the best from the GoPro, your videos are ace!

Lovely photos! I’m from an LGBT family, my non-bio mum (size 6 and super slim) used to love telling people she had a newborn baby at home. She was congratulated many times on losing the baby weight so quickly! haha.

I love your photos, the way you capture day to day life. You make it looks fun but I know how hard it is (being a dad of 3)!

I’ve followed you on Instagram for a while and have just found your blog and you guys on Twitter. I’ve been lost in your blog for a while and it’s lovely! What an amazing family you have! My children have unusual names -sorry can’t tell you as they have banned their mum using their identities on social media (oh to have teens!) -but they have lovely meanings and I’m so glad I stuck to my guns whilst choosing names! That are unique; just like my children. Good luck with this pregnancy. I think Wynter would suit this baby as a name! X
