I’ve written in the past about my affinity with the water. I have a friend who says that it’s because of my star sign, because I’m of a fire sign, water balances me. I don’t know whether that’s true and I’m quite sure that I don’t believe in that sort of thing, but I do know that I feel instantly calmer and happier in water. We don’t live near the sea but we do have rather a pleasant river a bus ride and walk away, and I anticipate that with the warm weather upon us we’re going to be spending rather a lot of time there.
It’s a happy place, Footscray Meadow. It’s beautiful. The dog loves to explore through the long grasses and the trees and I can imagine that the twins will enjoy chasing after her when they’re bigger, dwarfed by foliage and splashing through the water. It’s a part of London that doesn’t feel like London and it’s one of the reasons that we’ve chosen to live here – so that the twins can grow up with these experiences too, so that they can behave like wild children if they want to, so that they can trample and stomp and yell.
I chose these swimsuits, ‘Zebra Jo’, by Lilly and Sid for the twins to wear this summer and I couldn’t be more delighted with the choice. They’re absolutely adorable, with their big eyes, jagged mane and poky-out little ears. We almost never dress the twins identically but I couldn’t resist buying two of these and I’m so glad that I did because as you can see, it makes the perfect photograph.
In terms of practicalities, these swimsuits are UPV 50, meaning that once you’ve slathered on the sunscreen and zipped them up in their ‘Zebra Jo’, you don’t have to worry in the least about your baby burning to a crisp (I’m not the only one who frets about that, am I?). They’re super easy to put on and take off, the hood stays up until you pull it down and the costumes dry out very quickly once out of the water. I think that they’re absolutely super. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with these swimsuits.
If these words don’t convince you, I’m sure that these pictures will. I can’t help but note that these swimsuits are currently in the sale, and there are a couple of equally adorable varieties.
Lilly and Sid did not provide the swimsuits for this review, but kindly agreed that I could replace an old review from when the twins were small with this newer one, as I was displeased with the photography on the old. This photography looks much smarter and I’m wildly in love with the resulting images.

Like like like like a million times OMG.
You and Kirsty have grown the most perfect babies and dog.
I can’t even with these photos.
I want twenty of those costumes and a crèche-ful of babies like your twins to dress them in.
Photography envy grows with every post. And baby envy.
I might be a teensy bit biased, but could these two little angels be any cuter?

Is it wrong to want more babies so I can buy cool outfits like that?!
It was all so dull when my oldest ones were tiny!
These photos are just the best! Love love them, so adorable x
I’ve hopped over to your blog after we chatted on Twitter earlier. I wish I had more time for the accounts that I follow, and that sweetly follow me back (you are one of these).
I was born in Kent, near the magical place of this photo shoot. My dad will know this place, as he was born and grew up around there.
Your photography is immense, and it helps to have perfect subjects, wonderful settings and a superb imagination (not to mention super-cute clothes!). I’m one of those parents who dresses her kids identically. It is a little silly, but I love it. They’ll soon be old enough to say ‘no more, mum!’ xx
