Okay, so life hasn’t handed me many lemons recently. I have a super new job that interests me and is populated by people whom I like and respect, an incredible supermum of an other half who manages to keep our household running whilst I’m away most of the week, those incredible children and my fantastic little dog. But I’ve been spending less time at home of recent, and feeling a bit disconnected from it all. It’s not a nice feeling and so I have resolved to spend the weekends really making the most of my family and building new memories to treasure during the working week when I often don’t see my little ones awake for days at a time.
This is a bit of a silly one but recently I came across these pictures of babies tasting lemons for the first time. It made me wonder what our own little ones would do.
It’s not like they haven’t tried lemon – I make a fantastic chickpea and cauliflower lemon pasta – but they’ve certainly never chomped down on a slice on its own before. At snack time I gave them a plate of sliced lemons to taste and the results were hilarious. Naturally, I had to document the experience.
Have you ever given your baby a lemon to try? Have I finally cemented my lifetime membership at the Bad Mothers Club?! They didn’t seem to mind it much..!

Oh poor babies – what expressions!! Did they go back for more? Kitty had her first taste of pure lemon at nursery in a fruit tasting session, made the most amazing face duly documented by her key worker and then went back for another slice!!
Aww, I love it! I love their expressions – so cute!

Ha ha I wanted to try this but I don’t think I ever did. Now I guess it is a bit too late with my very picky toddler who won’t eat anything unless it is breaded and deep fried 😀 Great expressions 🙂
Mine eat the bit that they put in drinks. I hate my drink tasting lemony. It’s hilarious watching their faces.
Oh so brilliant! We gave Dylan lemon when he was about 8 month with the camera at the ready and I was so disappointed, because he loved it! He still steals the lemons out my drink to munch on
Haha! These are brilliant. The third photo is amazing, that moment of first tasting captured. Fantastic I love these. I have to do this with my two youngest. The girls would just glare at me if I asked them to eat lemon they’re too old and wise to it now. So funny. Xxx
Oh this is brilliant Amber! What great expressions, I so wish I’d captured the first time Freddie and Sasha tried a lemon! 🙂
